Donna Myers is not new to what it means to have a family or to family business. Married for 25 years, Donna previously helped her husband with book keeping and administration of his successful ventures including commercial signage, landscaping and home renovations while raising four children – now teenagers – together.
From a young age, Donna was interested in beauty however did not think that she had "the look" for the industry because she did not have flawless skin (having experienced a lot of breakouts) and was sporty and active.
When Donna lost two people who were close to her, (her mother in 2020 at the tender age of 69 and her best friend's husband, who died of prostate cancer at 52), she knew that life was too short not to do what you love.
“They were both working in jobs that they were not particularly passionate about,” says Donna, who at that time thought, "You only get one chance - and I decided to do beauty."
From a young age, Donna recalled family members using Ella Baché products, so when she decided to do the Diploma of Beauty Therapy, there was no course for her other than Ella Baché.
"The product sells itself - there is something for all skin types," says Donna who has always loved treatments and enjoyed the pamper experience.
At first, Donna recounts being nervous about attending college as a mature student and was not sure how she would fit in. On meeting her fellow trainers and classmates, she realised that was not going to be an issue and has enjoyed the on campus experience and looks forward to her classes each week Wednesday and Thursday in Sydney.

"The trainers are fantastic, Jody has a lot of experience," says Donna "The online learning portal is easy to use and upload, as well as follow materials and webinars."
It was not long into the course before Donna was snapped up by Ella Baché Penrith to complete her practical component - 150 salon hours, completed on Fridays each week.
