Jasmine is studying a Diploma of Beauty Therapy, on-campus
Life Before Beauty Therapy
Before embarking on her beauty therapy journey, Jasmine had just graduated from Year 12 in Tasmania, feeling completely lost about her next steps. She had a dislike for high school and was eager to leave it behind. Unsure of what she wanted to do with her life, the future felt uncertain.
Fortunately, Jasmine had a supportive family. Her mother, noticing her struggles, suggested that she move to Sydney to explore beauty therapy. Beauty had always been a passion for Jasmine, “I've always wanted to do beauty literally my whole life”. Her mother discovered Ella Baché College and shared it with her. Although Jasmine was keen to leave school, she felt it was important to finish Year 12 before making any decisions. In September, they visited the campus for a tour, which included a massage experience, and Jasmine instantly fell in love with the place. The tour was just what she needed to solidify her choice.
A Little About Jasmine
Currently, Jasmine lives just 25 minutes from Ryde and shares her home with a cat named Tammy and a dog named TJ—though she admits she loves Tammy more! As one of the older siblings in a large family, she is accustomed to being responsible and caring for others.
Why She Chose Ella Baché College
Ella Baché College stood out to Jasmine because “I love everything about it, like genuinely I love how… it’s very hands on. It’s very inclusive.” From the moment she stepped on campus, she felt it was a place where she would truly belong. The small class sizes provided more one-on-one time with educators like Jodi and Meredith, who were always available to offer extra support. The practical nature of the course made learning exciting and engaging, aligning perfectly with Jasmine's hands-on learning style.
Why Beauty Therapy?
Beauty had always been Jasmine's passion. From a young age, she was drawn to the field, although she also had an interest in the medical aspects. Combining beauty with dermatology or medical aesthetics had always been her dream. She had worked in small makeup boutiques and even tried a TAFE course in high school, but nothing felt as right as Ella Baché. While she dropped out of the TAFE course, it helped expose her to the beauty world and reinforced her desire to pursue it further.
The Best Part of On-Campus Learning
What Jasmine loves most about studying on-campus is the hands-on nature of the entire experience. Every class is interactive, and the “small class size are great. It's very easy to get like one-on-one time.” She has also made lifelong friends, like Alice, whom she knows she will stay connected with even after the course ends.
Her Go-To Beauty Product
If there’s one Ella Baché product Jasmine can’t live without, it’s the Hydration Mist. She uses it every single day—before applying makeup, after a shower, before bed, and when she wakes up in the morning. It has become an essential part of her skincare routine, and she swears by it.
Advice for Future Beauty Therapists
Jasmine's advice to anyone considering a career in beauty therapy is simple: just do it. And she didn’t hesitate once she discovered Ella Baché College. If you have a passion for beauty, there’s no better place to start.
“Don’t even think about it, do it –that’s what I did.” – Jasmine S.
Looking to the Future
After completing her course, Jasmine's ultimate goal is to venture into the medical side of beauty, focusing specifically on dermatology or medical aesthetics. She aspires to blend her love for beauty with medical knowledge to offer specialized services. Additionally, Jasmine possesses an entrepreneurial spirit; she dreams of owning her own business, creating a space where she can work on her own terms. For her, running a business represents freedom and control over her life. She hopes to create opportunities for others as well, providing pathways for new therapists to gain experience and perhaps open their own salons one day.
